Housing Commission
The Reed City Housing Commission (5 members) is a Public Housing Agency that sets policy for an executive director to implement. The Commission participates in the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program for 90 vouchers (within a 30 mile radius), and oversees 101 units of subsidized Public Housing and Independent Living at Meadowview Village, 802 S Mill St, Reed City, MI 49677.

Commissioners are appointed by the Reed City Council for 5 year terms. Training for new commissioners is provided by HUD and other housing agencies and professional associations when available.
Fire Hall Rentals
The Fire Hall Training Room is available to rent for your private events! All-day rentals include access to the kitchen facility as well as private bathrooms.
Rental Rates:
Non-Profit - Residents: $100.00/day
Non-Profit - Non-Residents: $150.00/day
Full payment is required, payable by cash, check or card, 15 days prior to the event, payable at City offices, 227 E. Lincoln Avenue.
CANCELLATION – Reservation Fee as agreed to, is acknowledged by the parties hereto, with the understanding between the said reservation fee is not refundable at any time.
Housing Commissioner
Expectations:
- Serve for a term of 5 years and Attend 10-12 meetings a year.
- Become familiar with Housing Choice voucher program (w/budget of $250,000).
- Become familiar with details of budget for the 101 Meadowview units ($570,000).
- Review all monthly bills for both programs.
- Attend a Housing Commissioner training session, when available, at little or no expense to the Commissioner.
- Become familiar with the current Policies as Updated and dictated by HUD.
