About Reed City
About Reed City
Reed City sits at the Crossroads of US 131 and US 10 as well as The Pere Marquette and White Pine rails-to-trails. Reed City is in Richmond Township and is the County Seat of Osceola County, a relaxing place to visit.
Reed City is a small city located in the southwest corner of Osceola County in the west central portion of Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Because of its central location, Reed City is close to wherever you want to visit, its only an hours drive from Grand Rapids, Traverse City, Midland or Ludington!
With our rich
history and 1800's downtown architecture, Reed City is the place to learn more about small town life. The city's claim to fame is their new Train Depot, a recreation of the historic train depot that sat at the junction of the Flint & Marquette and Grand Rapid & Indiana Railroads.
The new Depot is home to the Reed City Area Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Development Authority. It also serves as a 24-hour rest area for users of the White Pine and Pere Marquette Trails in all seasons. Area residents and visitors biking, hiking and snowmobiling can enjoy the firepit in the winter and music in the summer.
The Reed City Depot's meeting room is available to rent for your next meeting or special event. (Scroll down on the home page and on the left you will see our rates!)
Reed City is home to three
parks, in addition to our rails-to-trails system. Our parks are the perfect place to camp, have fun at the playgrounds, play tennis or baseball, or simply enjoy the local wildlife and landscape.
